Vallegrande Nature Resort

The Vallegrande Resort which is nestled inside the Madonie Regional Natural Park, is situated between the valleys and the mountains with views of Cefalù and the sea. In the 1970’s the property belonged to a well-known family from Palermo and was built to resemble a real ranch with a riding school. Later on, it was turned into a rustic style farmhouse for tourists and then more recently it was taken over by the Vitrano family who have completely transformed it into a luxurious and exclusive venue. Vallegrande actually belongs to the “Small Luxury Collection,” a small chain of places to stay which are united by their similarity in size, location and the exclusivity of their services.

The new Vallegrande Resort is the result of a significant investment, not just financially but also from the motivational point of view because the concept of Vallegrande as a rural farmhouse for families to visit on a Sunday has been turned completely on its head by creating a new structural concept with a new target market. The complex at the Vallegrande Resort has been renovated throughout without having any major impact on the surrounding land. The large windows in the central area of the building make it possible to admire the stunning views of the woods nearby, the rooms are decorated in a refined style where there is a true connection between the aesthetic taste in furniture combined with the unspoiled nature outside and the infinity pool provides a unique view of the Aeolian Islands which is a real treat for our lucky visitors.

Whilst staying at Vallegrande you can enjoy a wide range of different activities such as: horse riding through the woods, a day relaxing at the nearby beaches in Cefalù, visiting the Gole di Tiberio (the Gorge of Tiberius) a site which has been recognised by UNESCO and is the result of thousands of years of attrition by the waters of the River Pollina which has worn away the limestone until a canyon has been formed. Then, obviously, a visit to the historic centre of Cefalù is not to be missed along with the Cathedral and the Mandralisca Museum.

The Vallegrande Resort is busy all year round. During the summer months of July and August, the customers are predominantly Italian and during the other months of the year, the clientele is mainly made up of tourists from all over the rest of Europe.
