Being able to blend seaside and mountain in a single holiday dedicated to nature is the strong point of Case Saponara, a B&B situated in the Madonie Park, a few kilometres away from the white beaches of Cefalù and the Sanctuary of Gibilmanna.
We are used to thinking about Cefalù for its nightlife, its wonderful popular sand beaches and the multicultural historic centre, but few people remember that the Rock of Cefalù is located within the largest natural park in Sicily.
The Madonie Park is a natural reserve spanning over almost 40.000 hectares of breathtaking views. Nature offers green landscapes, scarps to hike and forests to explore, with a suggestive fauna.
Wandering around the Madonie Park is not difficult, even if you’re travelling with children: thanks to fifteen access points, twenty trails and eight picnic areas, you can organise enjoyable picnics and entire weekends in the Park with family and friends.
A unique place not only in Sicily, but also in Italy, the Madonie mountains have been a research subject for geologists since the Sixties because of the variety of structures from one area to another. Whereas the central areas are mainly limestone, the soil in the peripheral areas is clayey-sandy, thus resulting in a diverse range of mountain landscapes
Any nature enthusiast who is visiting Sicily can’t miss a visit to the Madonie Park!
In this context, the ideal accomodation is Case Saponara; this B&B is located 2 km from the Playa degli Uccelli beach and 7 km from the centre of Cefalù.
Case Saponara’s interiors and exterior have a charming rustic look, which blends in well with the landscape of the Madonie; it is surrounded by an enclosed garden and by trees all around.
The B&B offers three types of accomodation: a double room for two guests; a superior quadruple room for four guests; a double room with a balcony. All rooms are non-smoking.
Withing the B&B there are two wide terraces, one of which functions as a solarium, and a garden where to spend the coolest hours of the day. From the terraces you can admire both the view of the Rock of Cefalù, overlooking the white sandy beach, and the hilly and mountainous landscape of the Madonie.
The other facilities offered by this structure are: a private parking; free Wi-Fi; luggage storage; laundry service (with fee); air conditioning and heating.
Upon request, you can bring your pets. The B&B also offers a rich buffet breakfast.
If you don’t know how to get around the Madonie Park, don’t hesitate to ask to the manager: the structure organises different activities for it guests, such as excursions or cycling.
