The new Safe Centre headed by the Piranha team opens for business in Cefalù

A story that starts in the sea and has continued to endlessly evolve from that waterfront. A crystalline expanse containing an explosion of colours amongst poignant alleys, the scent of salt water, churches and palaces with Greek, Roman, Arabic and Norman heritage. The best way to observe all the ‘great beauty’ is right from the sea, getting intoxicated on the sight of these wonders while adding a touch of fun and panache to this unique experience. On the seaside promenade of Cefalù, one of the oldest and most beautiful villages in Italy, the new Safe centre opens: Piranha Sup School. The possibility to explore all the beaches in one stretch, from one bay to another, on board a Standup Paddleboarding.

Our dynamic and entertaining staff welcomes customers, showing willingness for teaching: at the Piranha Sup School it is possible to book private lessons where you can learn how to use the paddleboard. SUP, which is an acronym for Standup Paddleboarding, is a variant of surfing. The position to be taken on the board is standing, very similar to that of surfing but with a greater displacement for supporting the surfer’s weight, who uses a paddle for propulsion. In recent years this sport has had considerable growth worldwide, with countless enthusiasts also in Italy. Now thanks to the initiative of Cefalù’s youth, even the Norman town is included in the list of places where SUP has taken off.

Standup Paddleboarding, as a ‘crossover’ sport, is able to attract the attention of fans from other water sports, such as surfers. And that is why Marco and his team have decided to broaden the horizons of the Piranha Sup School. In addition to Paddleboarding, it is also possible to practice surfing on the Lungomare Giardina in Cefalù. With fifteen minutes of training on the beach to learn the necessary techniques to become a real surfer, then immediately to the water! An experience with an international taste that is instantly transformed into a tangible possibility of being assisted by real masters of watersports, ready and willing to pass on their knowledge to customers.

In a village where nature and art come together spontaneously, all that remains is to equip yourself with a sporting spirit, essential for those who decide to visit the Piranha Sup School and to enrol for a few hours with the Surfers or experts of Standup Paddleboarding. Thanks to the Piranha Team it is possible to enjoy the unique sensation of experiencing the sea in all its shapes and sizes.
