Set at the foot of a rocky cliff, it faces the boundless sea: Cefalù is one of the most beautiful Sicilian villages and one of the most sought-after seaside resorts that attracts crowds of tourists from all over the world every year.

The meeting point between the rocky asperity and the softness of the waters, the seaside town is particularly unique because of its ancient houses facing the sea, in the shadow of which the bathers spend the endless summer days.
A few steps from the city centre, the Lido di Cefalù stands out with its golden sand and the transparency of its waters. The seabed that slopes gently towards the open sea characterises the coastline that, extending for a mile and a half, offers an enchanting view: the old port of Cefalù dominated by the fortress and the Arab-Norman Duomo. Full of establishments and facilities, the beach is packed during the day, while at sunset it becomes the hub of nightlife.
Just move a few minutes from the centre to discover a quiet corner with a different scenery: the Caldura beach is a pebble beach surrounded by green trees and jagged rocks. The characteristic brown rocks that emerge along the shoreline offer the perfect trampoline from which to dive into the deep blue of the clear waters with turquoise shades.
A long stretch of sand that precedes a seabed that gets deep almost immediately and is open to the currents: the beach of Salinelle is perfect for windsurfers and for groups of friends in search of adventures that will leave evocative memories. A few kilometres from Salinelle is the wide beach of Capo Playa, an exclusive attraction for lovers of surfing and sailing: the constant winds that blow on the clear blue waters create a dream setting with a beach of sand and pebbles.
Long walks by the sea accompanied by the sound of the waves and the smell of salt water: Sant’Ambrogio beach is a small oasis hidden away from the crowds. A very large beach of sand mixed with white pebbles, the perfect place to spend moments of peace and tranquillity.
A beach renowned for its striking position and its azure sea is the Pollina di Cefalù beach. A long coastline of fine sand and gravel, very popular during the high season, is ideal for a relaxing holiday. The fun starts off during the day and continues until late in the evening with events, music, bonfires on the beach and other entertainment options.
About 3 km from Cefalù, we find the cove of Mazzaforno, a coastal stretch with plenty of access points to the sea through jagged rocks and sandy and pebbly beaches. There are two main beaches: the first one is a beach of sand mixed with pebbles while the second one is only sand and, together with the transparent water and the rocks that emerge from it, creates a picturesque landscape.
The beach of Settefrati boasts a view like no other: a bay surrounded by greenery and small indented coves. There are numerous rock formations, shaped like real faraglioni or stacks. The sea is crystal clear and transparent and the seabed rich in fish.

Last but not least, at the meeting point between the historic centre and the sea coast is located one of the most magical places in Cefalù: Porta Marina (or Pescara), the only survivor of the four gates belonging to the ancient city walls.
